Planning Ancillary Products: Photos being used
This side profile of the artist will be used for the panel where there is a track list. The background will all be erased and coloured white so it seems like it's popping out. It keeps is simple too and allows her shirt to stand out even more.
The red bandanna is there for the synergy and so are the red lips. The artist can be used as a synergy too.
This will be the main picture used on the front of the CD cover because it is a clear close-up of the artist. As she is new, the audience need to know exactly what she looks like. The background will be removed so it is all white like the back panel and it will also make the colour of the shirt pop more.
The bands on her arm are colourful too and give the audience a sense of her cultural background. Her red bandanna and lipstick are visible for the synergy. The artist seems happy and jolly - also illustrates youth.
This long shot of our artist will be effective because she seems like she's "on the go". We see her in action in a way - presenting happiness, excitement and youth. (Conventional for pop genre).
The red bandanna is also visible for the synergy. The background will be removed to just white so the shirt pops out and is visible. This will be placed on the back panel of the CD.
This png of red lips will be used for the sort of "logo" for the artist's name and album title. It will be used for the title and on the CD as a significant symbol for the audience to recognise the artist.
Planning Ancillary Products: Costumes for digipak
Our artist will wear a colourful shirt because the background of my digipak will be a plain white setting. This will make it pop and stand out - which is generally what pop music does (it's funky and interesting to look at). Even though the outfit isn't the same as our music video, this is normal because we are basing the cd and advert around her whole album and not just one song. So the outfit must represent the personality of our artist overall.
She will have the red lipstick because it is our synergy and keeps it constant. My digipak has a theme of red lips too so it will link together well.
For my digipak, the artist will have the red bandana for the synergy to be continuous and it will be visible through out the whole of the digipak. Most pop artists like to make their synergies obvious. For example, the use of their tattoos etc.

Linking to the music video..
The colourful shirt links to the funky backgrounds on both the costume and locations in the music video. All pop videos conventionally have bright colours that stand out to grab the audience's attention. Also, most pop videos have a young audience and young artists so the bright colours illustrate youth.
