Planning Ancillary Products: Costumes for digipak

Our artist will wear a colourful shirt because the background of my digipak will be a plain white setting. This will make it pop and stand out - which is generally what pop music does (it's funky and interesting to look at). Even though the outfit isn't the same as our music video, this is normal because we are basing the cd and advert around her whole album and not just one song. So the outfit must represent the personality of our artist overall.

She will have the red lipstick because it is our synergy and keeps it constant. My digipak has a theme of red lips too so it will link together well.

For my digipak, the artist will have the red bandana for the synergy to be continuous and it will be visible through out the whole of the digipak. Most pop artists like to make their synergies obvious. For example, the use of their tattoos etc.

Linking to the music video..

The colourful shirt links to the funky backgrounds on both the costume and locations in the music video. All pop videos conventionally have bright colours that stand out to grab the audience's attention. Also, most pop videos have a young audience and young artists so the bright colours illustrate youth.
